Each year the Junior Classical League reenacts the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius. The storyline based in an eyewitness account is accompanied by a cake replica of Mt. Vesuvius -- steaming and 'exploding' with cookie crumbles (pumice), lava (chocolate syrup), and ashes (powdered sugar).
